I'd just read a lot of book in English, listened to tons of songs in English, tried to imitate the singer's pronounciation, and talked to people who'd speak English as a first language over the net...but I guess that's just something I inherit from my mother, since she did the same with French and I think German, and she's really fluent in the first one. My parents' first language is Korean, and most of my relatives only know Korean, so the fact that I have VERY limited knowledge of the language kind of sucks, LOL. :'| But yeah, Korean songs are probably a good place to start. Yeah, there's a lot of people in America who have immigrant parents! It's actually pretty common around here. But most people I know either actually have a decent grip on their other language, or they don't need to know it, because where their relatives are, English is pretty well-known (for example, some European countries). Most of my relatives live in Korea and can't understand English at all, so... yeah. :);;;

There's katakana (for the words they get from other languages, or foreigners' name), hiragana and kanji. The latter was the hardest and the craziest. I haven't studied that far, though.

YES oh my god. I don't even know how you would keep track off all of those tags. @___@ And yeah, I know a lot of Chinese people and the only ones who can use it fluently are the ones who have been learning it their whole lives. And yeah, it's much easier for me to learn German than Korean, since German already has a lot of similarities to English while Korean is sort of like starting from scratch.

It's the easiest for me, but I guess everyone had different opinions. It's not as hard as, say, French.
