Given that we have so many new players, this is going to be an OOC coordination post! I know some people haven't gotten a chance to join the resistance, and since it's unfair of me to control everything / I'm unable to keep up with everything Dean would be doing ICly / I want everyone to be able to get involved if they want to, this is going to be your chance!

Basically, all you have to do is comment below with the characters you want involved in the resistance!

Muns who are already involved, if your character has cr or is likely to recruit those characters, please comment to them! I don't mind if you guys handwave the interaction, thread it out, I don't mind if you want to assume River sent your character to Dean and you don't even post here, honestly, it's all free game, I just know a lot of people want actual concrete IC reasoning behind how they were able to get involved in the resistance and so let's try and make that happen!

A NOTE ON TEAM LEADERS:

Dean is most likely going to select people he trusts. It's just the most realistic IC course of action. However, depending on how many people sign up for the resistance and the needs thereof, he is most likely going to have to pick people that aren't his super close buttbuddies for a few specialized teams.

The current prospectives are:

Martha Jones (Medical Team)
Castiel (Tactician & Strategy)
John Blake (Defense & Security)
Chihiro (Research & Development)*
Jo Harvelle (Offense & Training)
James Potter (Magic & Shit WTF)

There will most certainly be other divisions and teams because I'm... not exactly an expert on militia okay so if you have any suggestions please let me know and please also include suggestions for who you think might be good at heading that area. That is not a guarantee that it will happen of course, I just can't make that promise, but I do appreciate the input.

*This will be combat-free team that sees no actual fighting and will likely include a diverse range of kids, researchers, hackers, and otherwise smartypants.

As noted in the post, if you really can't think of a way your character could be involve but you want them to be, River is recruiting! If there's literally any quality on your characters part that would be good for resistance shenanigans, you are welcome to assume she would have picked up on it and has either told them to be at x room at y time, or that she's told another resistance member (lbr most likely Dean but others too!) to nab your character.

This can be totally handwaved (she is super duper pushy so don't worry if your character wouldn't agree right away) and isn't dependent on your character actually having met River, just...maybe let me know here or on plurk or something so I can keep track of who she's inviting?

Clara will be told of things through Martha, but really drug into things by River! She'll be working with Martha quite a bit, I imagine, but honestly is really well suited for working on Research & Development with her computer skills. She's an amazing hacker and really enjoys her research. OH and also she's learning sword fighting and self-defense and other weapony things so maybe she might try dabbling in defense related things at some point too. She'll try to be as involved as possible without getting in the way of things.

Vincent has a lot of skills that would be pretty useful to a resistance. He won't join it of his own volition, but if he is asked by someone he trusts and cares about, then he will eventually help.

He is a very good and accurate with a gun and is otherwise a pretty good fighter. Plus, he has training in intel gathering, guarding stuff, being what amounts to a corporate hitman, etc. And he would be willing to train others with weapons or spyingish stuff... SO eventually it's likely one or the other of his CR, such as Jo, might get him involved in training people in useful things like how to shoot a gun and stuff. Yeah.....

So this isn't a right away thing for him but I'm commenting here right now because eventually~~~~~ perhaps.

If you think he might respond to Blake, John's glad to be in it for the long haul. He does open training most every day, so maybe that's a good starting point?

Susan is nosy, helps with everything, has a laundry list of superpowers, and is so done with these magical shenanigans. Also she comes from a place where political discourse of any kind involves a hardcore riot, mild to severe arson, and throwing those in power into pits filled with scorpions.

Clearly I need to shove her at this resistance thing. I'd happily handwave her joining if it's easier, but I don't think she's been told about it so I'm hesitant to handwave that much. But, whether it's her finding out that there *is* a resistance or her joining, it'd be super nice to have something happen IC if anyone's got the time.

HEY YOU. James could probably invite her/let her know it's there. He's been trying to stick mostly to people he trusts for that (because of Peter Pettigrew related insecurities) BUT they did spend a lot of time with each others' Shadows so there is probably some mutual trust there. And also he likes to think he has a good intuition about these things. ...Except when it came to Peter but shhh.

Plus any excuse to hang out with Susan is a good thing and who knows? Superpowers might get her on James' team even /o/

Obviously Dick Roman is not invited to any of this. I'm sure he may copy somebody at some point and do a little sabotage, but that will be a wait and see thing.

As for Death, he will not sign up. He will show up every now and then when he feels like it and when Dean sees fit to call on him as per the usual. I wouldn't call him an official member though. It's all up to his mood.

If she's not the fighter type and if it suits her character, she could always be Hero Support, Research & Development, or Medical & Tactics. I honestly don't know her character or which area is more suited toward her, but either way we can certainly find a way to get her involved.

I don't know if anyone else would want to do this, but I've been looking for chances to have Joan deduce things so I think it might be cool to have her notice someone being all sneaky, ask them wtf is up, and have her R&D-suitable investigative skills noticed that way?

(As for Greed, he's in the same state as last time, sort of hanging around the edge wanting to be part of it but not officially because he doesn't join things dammit and I'm not sure how best to handle that, so *shrugs*)

I think John would definitely want to be involved and he's good enough at fighting to do defense/offense and technically does magic so he could be on that team if it's kept separate. I'm not sure who exactly would recruit him, but he's talked to River before so we could handwave that if nobody wants to volunteer.

George would want to be involved too, most likely doing Research stuff. Again, River can be the one if nobody else wants to have told her about it.

I think the Lorax is already aware of the resistance but is not certain he can contribute. If somebody can think of how he could help and then recruit him, he'd be happy to help in a nonviolent manner.

Volunteering Cordelia for this! I know she's new and everything, so I hope it's plausible for her to even be recruited, but considering this is basically her shit, I think it would be pretty Angel of me to not go ahead and raise my hand.

As for where she's involved, I honestly have no idea. She's skilled in sword-fighting, except she's not excellent at hand-to-hand combat (but is wanting to continue learning!), she has POWERS like visions and shit and leftover demonic powers that would be good for the security, defense, whatever. She's basically been working with a Scooby Gang of her own for the last four and a bit years, and has dealt with some pretty heavy and spikey stuff, so she's capable of a lot that I am currently not listing down because I'm a dumbass.

I have no idea who would invite her, though, and I have no idea where to put her because I feel as though she could dip her toes into many of the possible sections listed under the first top-level comment of the post. Buuuuut raising my hand. o/

Toph wants to go home and break things in the mean time, so she'd definitely want in on the hands-on-portion of this. You kids can research and plot, just let her break down some walls etc etc. Although, you know what she can also be? A lie detector, since she can tell with a lot of accuracy when a regular human is lying. She could test certain mirrors for trustworthiness. Also, she would like to break shit and fight and stuff, please, always, and possibly insult everyone in the process. You're welcome.

I offered Ruby before, to help figure out if someone is a mirror posing as their real, or the actual real version, and make a database as the differences so everyone can identify them, but I believe that was scrapped/adapted for other characters. If Jo wants to include tracking, crossbows/bows in her training, she could assist there, otherwise she's always willing to help but probably still has nothing to contribute to the resistance.
