Santana is, despite what Dave acted at first, someone he can consider a pretty cool chick. He likes her enough, and also understands that the crush John has on her isn't going anywhere because of their age differences. So long as she doesn't like. Smash it into itty-bitty bits, stomp on the remains, sweep them into a dustbin, and feed it to the crows/rabid weasels. Then there'll be words.

Otherwise, he doesn't mind getting to know her a little better. From what he's seen, she's not a terrible person. Just someone who's pretty fucking blunt and isn't going to take any nonsense.
