Tim really likes Spencer. If Santana hadn't come and gotten back together with him he would have eventually started hitting on her hardcore. Because hey, she's cute, she's smart, she can keep up with witty sarcastic banter. DREAM GIRL.

On the other hand he's sorta trying to NOT get to know anyone real well since he has some strange notion that his Masked self only goes after people he knows. Which he doesn't, but Tim doesn't know that.
