Hibari
Ryohei's bestie. His bro. His only remaining sparring partner. Ryohei values Hibari more than anyone except Kyoko. Hibari can explain things in terms Ryohei understands and he gets that Ryohei learns physically and expresses himself physically, which can be said of very, very few other people. Hibari's honest and straightforward with him, and he tolerates Ryohei's idiosyncrasies like a champ. Which isn't to say that being friends with Hibari is always easy or pleasant. It just means that even when it isn't, Ryohei still thinks it's worth it, because in the end, they have an understanding that's pretty much irrevocable.
Gokudera respects and possibly admires Hibari's strength. He appreciates Hibari's straightforwardness in most areas even if he doesn't like it, and while he hates hates HATES that Hibari is a better fighter than him, the few times Hibari has complimented him (if that's even close to the right word) he has actually appreciated it. In a grudging, resentful sort of way. No matter what, though, Hibari's family. And Gokudera has an obligation toward him. He just would like if Hibari actually reciprocated that.
Rei thinks Hibari's an odd mixture of being straightforward and very illogical. She doesn't know what to think of him personally, though.
Karkat thinks Hibari is stupid and needs to recognize him as the superior troll.
Jack
Gokudera's actually kind of fascinated by Jack, but is holding off on that because Jack is mentally a little kid.
Rei is protective of Jack. Which she's never experienced before, but she was SO ANGRY (for her) when Jack died. It also reminds her of Shinji telling her she would make a good mother and hopes that he was right, because she has no idea how to be a mom to Jack.
