OKAY SO Kite can remove AIDA which is pretty convenient! So just letting everyone know, if you don't want your character to die of AIDAs but still want to get infected he can totes be your plot device, because that is what he will be doing for the whole event. Feel free to also just say he burst in and Data Drained whoever if you don't want to thread it, just let me know it happened o7

Also if you want to just die of Data Drains at some point that is also cool because whoops fatality rate, looking not to good there Kite. Again, just tell me it happened.

Also also if you have other plans and DON'T want Kite bursting in to save the day, you should also tell me that or mention it in your posts/comment/whatever, which is still totally cool with me so no hard feelings .o.b just remember that there's a virus-killing AI running around and if your character is infected and making it their life's purpose to infect everyone else in the mansion, that's probably going to get his attention.

and since I am the local .hack expert you can totes ask me questions about AIDA if you want to I guess :V /is helpful?

Those virus-y dots, do they just float in the air in some places or do they actually attack / follow people?

How does a person act/look once they are infected? Specifically, are they still the same, only trying to grope infect other people or are there some personality/voice/appearance/... changes (beyond the possibility of additional limbs)?

....because I fail at finding that information online somehow -___-;;;;;

Can you do something about the black dots? So if you touch them you get infected, right? But can they be destroyed or attacked? Like, shot at with a gun or swiped aside with a mop?

1. Kind of both! they sort of float there and bubble and look weird, but will "attack" people if they get too close. Which is really just touching them because that's all it takes.

2. Basically, the virus digs up some really strong regrets or emotions or whatnot and blows them wildly out of proportion. Mentally, they became obsessed with whatever AIDA decided to target in them and never shut up about it ever (ex. Atoli is constantly screaming about how no one ever looks at her, Endrance thinks AIDA is his old friend and goes on and on about how much he loves her, Bordeaux is obsessed with defeating Haseo after he humiliated her, etc.).

Physically, at first, the only change is the black dots clustering around them, but over time it spreads to form black patches over their body which eventually turns into crazy shit like huge claws, tentacles, spikes, etc., etc. Whatever the hell crazy thing you can think of, but the more of it there is the deeper the infection is.

Oh man videos really show this better than words. For a good example of batshit ranting and crazy handtentacle shit there's this lovely scene (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbeLNWmgtDo). WHOOPS EDIT. They can be attacked I guess, but they can't be destroyed without Data Drain or a similar sort of reality-altering power. If you shoot them it will just pass through, and swinging an object as a weapon would more likely make it pass through said object to infect the wielder.

How do AIDA-Infected react towards each other?

Infected people tend to work together, or at least they don't attack each other. Not sure how they'd interact since it doesn't really come up in the canon, but since AIDA's goal is to spread the infection it makes sense they would help each other out if another infected was nearby. The virus itself has a hivemind so they definitely wouldn't be getting in eachother's way.

Also, I intend for Hubb and Ivanova to get infected. Ivanova should not be cured until late in the event. Draining Hubb is likely to cause a heart attack, but I'll make a note when he posts.

I'm gonna have believes_lies become infected but I plan to pretty much have her stay infected through the event and have the infection just end when the event times out. If that plan changes, though, I'll PM or comment here again with a plee for salvation~ (And thanks so much for those links because I was having a hard time finding reference material too XD)

bishonen_puu will probably need to be data drained at some point but since I haven't killed him yet and am kind of on the fence about keeping him anyway, I'll be having the casualty option with him. I'm pretty busy these next three days, though, so for now I'm going to say that'll be a hand-wave thing.

ONTO MOER RELEVANT THINGS. Kite is free to come Data Drain Kanda if he gets infected! Because otherwise I think he's going to start another RAEG battle with Allen, and, well. that wouldn't be a good thing. it'd just be recreating the recent chapters of DGM, except in a giant mansion and no other way to calm him down. I need to ask Witty about that first though.

And killing someone with AIDA, yes it is totally possible. They're just a lot more resilient due to crazy viral magic junk or whatever.
