Lab? What's up with that lab?
[MODHAT ON]
As we're winding down to the end of February and the event comes up, your characters will find the snow melting and things warming up pretty quickly. Nothing's growing, not yet, but the snow no longer constantly restores itself, and things like the fountains and ponds are no longer sheeted in ice. March is moving in, baby, and with that comes the March Hare. o9
[/MODHAT]
On a different topic entirely...
So if your character volunteered to help Vexen out with his little project here and here, this post is relevant to their interests! And even if you're not, it's still relevant. :|
The construction work on the lab started on February 7th, then mirrors happened and it all went to shit, and now work (and data collection ufufuuu) has resumed. It'll be in full working order by early March; though Vexen's filtered his own posts away from anyone he thinks would be likely to kick up a fuss about him starting up any kind of ~science~ again, at the rate secrets are kept in this mansion, it's only a matter of time. :|
Characters helping out with the construction and general movement of equipment can feel free to complain about splinters, Vexen's bossy attitude, the way Giselle sings in the penguins to help, etc. He'll be totally unsympathetic, but on the plus side, he's also nagging people to bring up medical supplies from the lab below (now converted to Yzma's creepy hangout) so the Mansion's unofficial 'clinic' is now in room 204-206 (like Vexen said, it spans three doors) rather than in the grody basement.
Anyway, as Vexen's said, the purpose of the laboratory is to study how the Mansion takes away memories, and whether it can be stopped, so he'll be looking around for subjects to interview, and data to crunch. o9 If your character's interested in helping out the data-side collection, a.k.a. for the long-ish term, working under crabby old man Vexen and all, comment to this post so I can take note of it. :| Note that
What exactly will result from this research? Maybe something useful. Maybe something completely useless! Floormates can feel free to come over and investigate what the hell Vexen's up to, but at the moment, there's not too much to see.
Another reason I'd like characters getting involved to reply to this post is so I can tell you what Vexen would have asked your character to get up to/create/look into! : )

You forgot to close a quote.
Data collection on Saix has already started, so.... When the secret gets out, you can obviously feel free to pester him all you want for Moar Info.

yeahhhhh vexne's basically like 'hey go look through that shit but try not to focus on shower vidyas plz :V'

Oh yeah, she likes to come stand in doorways and swing any creaky door hinges back and forth in a petulant 'pay attention to me!' way while you're working, until you tell her to go find something else to do.
Yzma also is repainting that basement dahling, (less gruddy, moar FAAAAHHHHHHBULOUS shades of purple!!!) and constructing her own YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW BUT IT LOOKS VAGUELY ALCHEMICAL down there.
But she's been lending a hand and acting overly eager on the upstairs work, so feel free to shoo her off or be :| extremely irritated at her flitting about like a mad old bat with her own crazyass suggestions.
Arland...is kind of otherwise occupied and oblivious, but then he's always assumed Vexen's been busily working on something anyway. WATCH THE BROWS RAISE AND THEN FURROW STERNLY THOUGH, PEOPLE, IF HE FINDS OUT NAMINE'S INVOLVED.

She'll agree to be a test subject too, as long as it doesn't involve needles ;D

FrostyVexen science harder. That, and she can do technology-related things, too, as, even if she doesn't know this, she lives in a goddamn library and is a voracious reader, so she'll figure things out quickly.Chikane, though, is not much use. And kind of fixated on the whole 'I'm dead and I miss Himeko' thing.

Maybe he'll wear his fakes from the ear event sometime.

Ritsuka - He's all for helping too. He's got chronic memory loss (By chronic I mean he doesn't remember most of his childhood wot?!) though, so I'm not sure if he'll be helpful at all.
Sirius - Will help out in any way he can, but he won't be much use since he hasn't forgotten anything. But he's good for heavy labor. He'll also cranky back at Vexen.
Yuuko - Will watch and laugh at you all. She'll also make a jab or two in Vexen's general direction and probably hit around in her journal about dastardly going's on.

Dean's good for hard labor and occassional simple electronic things. He knows how to read for EMF and how to construct one so that could be vaguely helpful. He also knows about cursed objects and might be able to lend a few theories there.
Other than that he has a vacillating moral compass so he might be willing to conduct experiments others find questionable in the name of getting out of the mansion.
Besides that he's good for manual labor and smart ass remarks. And occassionally messing things up by bumping into them. Subtle? Not his forte.
