Chinese New Year event update!

Hello, just a reminder that the event for the Chinese New Years will be ending in a few days, and big things will be happening. So I'm here to remind players and clear up a few questions that have come up during this time.

Right then! On the 21st, this Thursday, the normal decorations will suddenly include many paper lanterns which will light themselves as the sun goes down. The lanterns will line a path leading towards Wonderland's lake. The lake itself will be eerily still and there will be a number of small paper boats, each one lit with a candle in the center, waiting.

What are the boats waiting for? Well, also on the 21st, every resident of Wonderland who has died in canon will undergo a change: basically they will become ghosts. This includes the whole floating, turning invisible at will and passing through walls bit, though powers stay the same and it is still possible to interact with the living world, though it takes a bit of concentration to actually touch something rather than phasing through it.

Now, what does it mean 'died in canon'? If your character was dead before their arrival in Wonderland, they fall into this category. If your character dies in their canon, but you brought them to Wonderland before that point, they will remain 'alive'.

If your character is undead, such as a vampire or a zombie mage, they would not become ghosts. Unless they died again permanently in canon before coming to Wonderland.

If your character is Death (we have two such characters), they of course won't change, but they might have some insight as to what all is going on.

I think that covers everything. Finally, remember that if your characters is a ghost they will feel a compulsion to follow the lit lanterns and cross the lake before the day is over. They don't have to do it, the compulsion can be resisted. Those that do give in and cross the lake won't return until sunrise on the 22nd, waking up in their beds (or wherever they usually sleep) with only vague dreams of having visited their homes. Whether the dreams are happy or sad is up to the players.

As for the rats? They will be saying goodbye on the evening of the 21st, some might go out to the lake to watch the ghosts cross, but all will be gone by morning. Almost. Some people have asked if their characters can keep one of the rats as a pet, and I don't see any reason why not. :3

Any questions, ask me here or talk to me on AIM at SlytherinSyrup.

Actually, I was wondering about Sora. He's probably died like, a lot, being from a game and all, plus the whole Data Draining thing. Would that count for anything? :

Indeed he was :|

The problem is, he's technically not dead. The assumption is that his mind was separated from his body and trapped in 'The World', becoming an AI or whatever. So... uh, I really don't know D:

But if it's fine with you, I'd like to make him a ghost. He wants to go chill with Haunter.
