Henry-mun gets a new character!
Hello all, Henry-mun/Zho here with a new character! The highly unappreciated Ashura from the RG Veda series by CLAMP. For those few of you that do know who Ashura is, hurray! I’m very happy! But for those of you who don’t (shame on you! :D) I’m gonna tell whoever wants to know a little bit about our gender-confused prince!
Right… First off, Ashura has no gender. That’s right, he’s always referred to as a he for… convenience purposes, like the way that you refer to humans as mankind? That sorta thing. Feel free to refer to Ashura as a girl if you want to, but I think Ashura’s probably more boyish anyway (he doesn’t have breasts!). And… don’t get all uppity at me about Ashura’s bodily functions XD because I don’t want to think about Ashura weeing or pooing.
Right, second big point is that Ashura has split personalities. Light Ashura and Dark Ashura. I wont go into this too much because it’s really complex and I don’t really know how to explain it myself! But basically Light Ashura is all of the good things about his personality, where as Dark Ashura is well… What’s left over. His personality switches are brought on by massive influxes of emotion or stressful situations. Hopefully a lot of them will occur so all of you people who like to torment your characters can have Dark Ashura knock them about a bit!
What else… Ashura has some power over fire and is alright with a sword. His Light self is in love with a warrior named Yasha (who is, by the way, a hell of a lot bigger and older than Ashura!). Dark Ashura likes to think that he’s some sort of heavenly force and that he’s indestructible, however, he’s not. He’s as human as anyone elseexcluding Mr. Sullivan.
Okay, enough rambling, here’s some pretty pictures! If you can’t be bothered with all that text and I can’t blame you if you’re not, lol! Then if nothing else, look at the lovely old-style CLAMP artwork!!
