Ayase seemed to be the only uke in the whole world in the manga, so naturally all the semes were desperate. Here, however, he is not alone. And wow, with a personality? What's the world coming to?

This is going to be tl;dr, but copy-pasted from a while ago:

"...Even though he cries a lot and stuff, and he's like physically weak (he kinda can't help it), and he gets scared a lot (but I mean come on people are DYING and he's being shoved around by like a MAFIA BOSS WTF and he's just some normal kid)... he doesn't get mentally pushed around. Even canonly he like argues with Kanou about his morals and stuff, plus he's not all Kanouuu I need youuuuu when he isn't around (KANOU's the one that gets lonely, not AYASE) -- and he isn't even like HELP SAVE ME when he DOES randomly get raped. Give Ayase a gun and a situation to do it in and he could probably save Kanou's ass, he'd have the willpower'n stuff to do it.

Also, 'cause I just remembered, canonly, before Kanou bought him, Ayase was living by himself in an apartment in the city -- as a college student with no family. Which means he was working and taking care of himself and going to school and all that, plus when he moves in with Kanou, he like, takes care of him. *dies* So he's responsible and not helpless in everyday life and stuff! Everyone seems to just randomly forget the backstory and that Ayase's perfectly capable of functioning by himself -- you know except when people are kidnapping him which is like WTF, what random normal person... would be like, perfectly ok with that? ghaektgjhaetk
