Hi, all! I'm Erin and you might remember me from such Mafia games as "Dammit That Jackass Was the Traitor All Along," and "Yakuza Sucks Part IV."

If you're not part of the EpicMafia crowd, then hello and nice to meet you! To Entranceway, I am bringing in Sam Tyler from BBC's Manchester cop drama Life on Mars, of which Sam is the protagonist. And also the look-alike of a certain better-known psycho alien.



In his canon, Sam gets hit by a car in 2006 and suddenly wakes up 1973, where aside from experiencing the 70's in all its politically incorrect sepia glory, he has to deal with everyone thinking he's crazy and seeing hallucinations from the "real world" on a regular basis. So, if your character sees Sam wandering around and yelling at technology or... anything, um. Yeah. He's sort of nuts. 8(

That said, Sam's an extremely clever and absolutely stubborn police officer. He's obsessed with doing things The Proper Way, so chances are that if he's involved in anything, he'll get his job done and do it exceptionally. Unless he disagrees with you, then he'll screw it up horribly.

Well, you have a few different options! With Martha, for instance, I had her run into another new person in a log and then I also had her respond to a few other posts on the network before she made her own post.

With Cas, I also started off with a log and then I made an open post, but it was all face-to-face stuff with him flying around because he wouldn't use his phone first thing.

SO IT JUST KIND OF DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU THINK SAM WOULD DO. Would he broadcast something immediately, or would he poke around and talk to other people first? Or would he just set the phone aside at first and wander around?

UHHHhhh I think he'd definitely be disoriented enough at first to just wander around before he actually checks what's in his damn pockets much like 1973 lmfao. Once he does, though, he'd probably check through all the recent posts but instead of replying to them make one of his own because he is just so subtle and humble like that. After making his post, hmmm, he might go meet one or two people who he deems "knowledgable enough" to get info from face-to-face, but from the most part he'd probably be squirrelly and distrustful of everyone and ask lots of questions while lecturing people as if he knows anything about what the fuck is going on. ...Again, like the canon HAHAHA.

In that case, maybe put up an open log post so that people could tag in there? You'll probably get a few hits, and he could meet people while he's wandering. Then have him make a network broadcast whenever you think it would make sense for him to? AND HAHAH YES being distrustful of everyone sounds about right. 8)

HMMMmm yes I think I shall go this route. Man I'm still not used to posting a log post and replying to multiple people but I SHOULD PROBABLY GET USED TO THAT HUH. So yes, good idea. AND THEN NETWORK and... stuff.

"Distrust" and "Sam Tyler" are basically synonymous ok. unless you are a woman in possible nebulous danger and then you can be trusted instantly.

You mean in terms of the timing? It does take some getting used to, I try to mentally order them in my head, but you're free to limit it to a certain number if you want!
