Book characters? Who reads books?

Hello everyone!

I'm Bubbles. I'm new to Entranceway and super excited to play with you guys.

I'm bringing in Susan Sto-Helit from Discworld, from just after Thief of Time. Since there's a small mountain's worth of Discworld books and Susan's only in about three of them, I'll assume nobody knows what she's about.

Susan is sort of like a cynical, goth Mary Poppins. She's a school teacher who has an intense distaste for magical shenanigans, Mythical creatures, and silliness in general. (Clearly this is the best place to play her.) She doesn't scare easily (this is to say, pretty much ever), she's rather proficient with stick-like weapons, loves horses, plays lacrosse, and is very fond of children. She's also very helpful, in general.

Really, she is.

To top it all off, her Grandfather is Death (of Discworld) and, because Discworld is a silly place, she's got a whole slew of quirky abilities she inherited from him.

Naturally, I wouldn't want to inconvenience anybody with these, so I've set up a permissions post over on my journal. There's nothing terribly over the top in there, but she is one of these very attentive and Sherlockian people. If you have something you'd rather she not notice/figure out about your characters, please do tell me.

She'd probably try to summon her grandad before long, to be honest. And as I recall, SPN!Death doesn't care for that sort of thing.

Oh, wow...she sounds really, really cool. I'll comment on your permissions post, too, but please feel free to do whatever you wish with Kirk, he's largely an open book with most things. He's also probably going to get on her every last nerve, but that should be fun in any case.

Also, if you have Netflix, one of the three Discworld movies actually has her saving Christmas. (Sort of.) I highly recommend the Hogfather.

Hi Steph! And no worries, a lot of people haven't read these books. I'm used to canon blindness. There is a movie on netflix, though, and I never miss the chance to pimp the Hogfather. (Susan and Death save Christmas. It's pretty fabulous.)

And no worries, the nice thing about Discworld is that they're all funny and about 250~ pages so they're quick reads. The difficult bit is that there's a million of them. Susan may be a bit odd, but you won't need to know anything in particular to play someone against her.

IT'S KAY, BUT THE NEWEST BOOKS ARE FULL OF REALLY FANTASTICALLY RIDICULOUS THINGS like Lord Vetinari nearly getting a pie in the face during a treason hearing and discworld style romeo and juliet feat. soccer hooligans SO I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THEM.

I'm not familiar with the new Musketeers movie, but maybe I should change that. I am also not familiar with Penumbra but just looking at Philip's app has me interested, I hope we can do all sorts of fun things :D

I enjoyed the hell out of OUAT and am totally current on Supernatural, so Ruby and Cas? Fabulous. Really, I am way too jazzed about all the characters in EWAY, from both of those shows, and I totally plan on harassing each and every one of them at some point.
