Foreveryone who isn't me anyone who's never seen the movie, Tzekel-Kan is the zealous High Priest of El Dorado. His hobbies include conjuring disturbing things, sacrificing people, stabbing himself, and summoning giant stone jungle cats to rampage through cities and eat false gods.
He just got punted into the entrance to the spirit world, so he's going to think the mansion is the gods' home for a little while. Uh, anyone actually telling him they are gods can expect to be stealthily stabbed or put into a situation causing bodily harm. He's been burned once, he's not going to fall for it again.
