Hayate the Combat Butler (as its called in the States) is about the girliest kid ever being a loli's bitchbutler due to his parents being made of fail and dumping a 150,000,000 debt on him and fleeing while Yakuza show up to collect him. Angst, Santa punching (he had it coming. Really :O), misunderstandings, love triangles, ass-kicking, pop culture references, robots, tsundere lolis, tigers, crossdressing, and hilarity ensues. And that's the short summary. :D
.hack is more or less about a video game that for some reason can put you in a coma. But that explanation doesn't do it justice. Its....hella complicated to explain considering it has three anime series, manga, novels, two video games that split into several games (the first one was four games and the second, which Haseo comes from, has three), movie version of one of those games (which I like to call .hack//CAPSLOCK OF RAAAAGE), and...something else I'm probably forgetting now.
