because henry hasn't effed up enough

Hello Wonderland-ians! Britt here, who as of late has been bringing you perpetual teenage angst machine Henry Mills for the past two (almost!) years. What better way to celebrate an anniversary in this game than by ruining all the character's lives for 24 hours????

On July 22nd (this coming Friday), Henry is going to show Bruce the wonders of chemistry and magic combining together by brewing up a sleeping curse. Thanks to Regina showing him how to make one literally step by step, Henry's totally got this and nothing could go wrong, ever. Because he's not a magical genius, the potion will work, but it will actually poof (a technical term in OUAT) and dissipate into the mansion through air vents. Technically, this should knock everyone out. However, since this is Wonderland, and this is a totally optional plot, a few things can happen:

❥ You can opt out by simply not being in an area the initial poof spreads to. There's been allowance for 'Wonderland and magic are both wacky' so if you don't want to be affected, no worries, your character doesn't have to be! They can totally be like 'wtf people are passing out all around me' and that's cool.

❥ If you do decide to have your character fall under the sleeping curse, either they'll be out for 24 hours, waking up on Saturday the 23rd, OR, a true love can wake them with a kiss sooner than that, at any point after they've fallen asleep. A true love does not have to be a romantic partner. It can be a parent, sibling, best friend; basically anyone who loves them. For all I know, Pongo could wake up Archie, so.

❥ Also, one tiny little detail: People who have been under sleeping curses often have nightmares after of being in a hellish room that's on fire, so have fun!

You can either be cursed, or be the one to wake someone up, but this can be a place everyone plots it out! A network post will go up on Friday that can serve as a place for everyone to thread, or you can always do your own thing! Let me know if you have any questions!

Will everyone know that the person sleeping is having those nightmares? Also, will they know that the kiss wakes them up?

No; Henry (and the rest of the OUAT cast) knows that the people in the sleeping curse are in that nightmare, but until reports start trickling in, no one else will know :( Also, it's worth mentioning that the nightmares can (optionally) continue even after the event.

As far as knowing what's happened to them, nope they won't know what it is until they wake up and the person who did the waking explains. Fun explanation times all around!

Would you be open to a character who canonly tends to shake off comas/forced sleep being an anomaly to some degree? I don't want to make life difficult for you! So lmk if you even want to entertain it, and I'll have some q's to lob at you about Faith.

I honestly can't remember much about Faith's canon so feel free to lob questions! I have no idea how to answer this without knowing a little bit more, lol. But I also think in general this is pretty chillax 'hey this magic is super cray because Wonderland has manipulated what it normally does as well.'

OK! I'm mostly referring to how she tends to dream walk when she's in a coma/sleep-- but in canon, one instance is specifically slayer to slayer and the other was the intent of the drug she took. I've never been able to play with it so I was mulling over whether I could fudge some dream-walking here given another canon's magic + Wonderland.

Honestly, I say go with it. There's no reason to not play around with it since for the plot itself I'm sort of fudging how the sleeping curse works in general!

Dipper gets to be all panicky bc his sister is falling asleep and he is SO MANY LEVELS OF NOT OK WITH THAT. But he'll also get to wake her up bc their sibling love is super true. So GET READY FOR UPSET DIPPER EVERYONE. (Sorry Henry he will be so mad.)

Bubblegum is also gonna be interesting because she actually has a bottle of true love in her lab thanks to Regina. She's been experimenting with it and while I'm not sure what she's found, this would be an excellent time to try out her stuff on any poor, loveless sleepers so anyone who's interested in that, let me know!

Pidge doesn't really have any close enough cr for this to be that interesting rn so I have no particular ideas for her but if anyone wants to do something, let me know!

Caitlin is going to fall unfortunate victim to the sleeping curse. And with her luck, it'll happen in her own room, so she'd probably go unnoticed. She is one of the (somewhat) loveless. At least it'll be 24 hours of uninterrupted sleep, after which she will now have the room on fire nightmares to go with her other nightmares.

So yeah. Never sleeping again after this.
